WITH ATHIRAPILLY- COCHIN-MUNNAR-THEKKADY-ALEPPY-ATHIRAPPILLY-COCHIN
Munnar You will be picked up from Cochin Airport and drive to Munnar (04 Hrs drive). On the way enjoy Athirappilly waterfalls ( Cochin -Athirapally Distance - 52 kms )and Cheeyapara waterfalls, Valara waterfalls, Spice plantations etc.. On arrival at Munnar check into Hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Overnight stay at the hotel .
After breakfast spend the day with local sightseeing. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is 1600 Meter above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. Local sightseeing of Munnar includes visit to Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo point. Afternoon proceed to Rajamalai were the rarest species of mountain goat, "Nilgiri Thars", can be spotted. Overnight stay is arranged at Munnar.
After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Upon arrival there, check into the hotel and have lunch (personal expense).
In the afternoon, proceed for a boat cruise at Periyar Lake in Thekkady, which is synonymous with wildlife and nature treks.
In the evening, visit the theatre arena to have a firsthand experience of arts and crafts through the traditional Kalari Show.
After that, you can either shop in the local market or opt for an elephant ride (on direct payment basis) in the evening. Return to the hotel in the evening, enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel in Thekkady and go for a spice plantation tour which will last for an hour. You may also indulge in spice shopping (on direct payment basis).
There are various kinds of spices cultivated in Thekkady. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper. Also, there is a variety of cardmom, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantations in Thekkady.
Check in to the houseboat and spend the rest of the day there. Enjoy lunch, dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the houseboat.
Departure from Cochin After breakfast, check out of the houseboat from Alleppey and drive to Cochin. Board the car to the airport in time for your onward flight. Hope you had an enjoyable trip!
