A rock theme park with the world’s largest bird sculpture and an awesome adventure park are what await travelers at Jatayupura in Kollam. It gets its name from the mythical bird in Ramayana - Jatayu. Legend has it that Jatau tried to save Sita (wife of Lord Rama) when Ravana, a demon king, was abducting her in his airborne chariot. He is said to have fought valiantly and fallen on these rocks, grievously injured. The bird sculpture is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide and 70 feet high. It boasts of a museum as well as a multi-dimensional theatre. In the adventure park, 20 exciting activities in archery, rappelling, ladder climbing and chimney climbing are offered.
